California Lasik Eye Surgery : Is Vision Touch Up Possible After LASIK Surgery?

Is it possible for you to have vision touch up after LASIK surgery? It’s possible now. However, it’s limited to people from ages 40 to 65 who see objects clearly at a distance and do not have astigmatism or any eye disease.

For those baby boomers who has LASIK surgery for their nearsightedness thought they had kissed their glasses goodbye forever. However, many are now hunting for their reading glasses as they have developed presbyopia. This is a condition where aging eyes lose their ability to see things that are near to them.

Here’s the good news!

A minimally invasive radio-wave technique called NearVision CK (Conductive Keratoplasty) can correct presbyopia safely in people had LASIK surgery previously. NearVision CK is performed with a tiny probe that is inserted around the cornea to reshape it using very low heat from radio-frequency energy. This changes the way light rays enter the eye to achieve focus.

After the 10 minutes surgery, the patient’s eye may feel irritated and dry for up to 48 hours. An improvement in vision will only take place a few weeks after the surgery.
